Getting To South Andros Island

*VALID PASSPORTS ARE REQUIRED FOR TRAVEL TO AND FROM THE BAHAMAS*

It is recommended that you fly into either Nassau, Bahamas or Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and then take a second flight to Congo Town Airport on South Andros Island.

From Nassau (only 15 minutes):
Western Air departs daily at 7 am and 3 pm from Nassau to Congo Town. Call 242.377.2222 to reserve seats in advance. $70 each way, cash only.

Western Air and Lynx Air both fly these sleek 19 passenger aircraft to South Andros Island.

From Florida (less than an hour):
Lynx Air from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Congo Town, South Andros (TZN). Call 888.596.9247 or 954.772.9808 for reservations.

Saturday: Departs Ft. Lauderdale at 11:30 am, arrives at Congo Town 12:30 pm
Sunday: Departs Ft. Lauderdale at 3:00 pm, arrives at Congo Town 4:00 pm
Wednesday: Departs Ft. Lauderdale at 2:30 pm, arrives at Congo Town 3:30 pm

From Congo Town, South Andros:
Western Air departs daily at 7:30 am and 3:30 pm from Congo Town to Nassau. Call 242.377.2222 to reserve seats in advance. $70 each way, cash only.

Lynx Air from Congo Town (TZN) to Fort Lauderdale (FLL). Call 888.596.9247 for reservations.

Saturday: Departs Congo Town at 1:15 pm, arrives at Ft. Lauderdale 2:15 pm
Sunday: Departs Congo Town at 4:45 pm, arrives at Ft. Lauderdale 5:45 pm
Wednesday: Departs Congo Town at 4:00 pm, arrives at Ft. Lauderdale 6:20 pm (1 stop on another island)

*Check on the weight limits. In general, 50 pounds per person is allowed on Western Air and 70 pounds on Lynx Air with a surcharge for excess baggage.

From Nassau by Boat:
Reel Tight Charters Bahamas operates a charter boat service to and from Nassau and South Andros. The charter boat is a 25 foot power catamaran which makes thus option weather dependent. We can make arrangements for you so inquire if you might be interested in this option.

Drigg's Hill Marina on the northern tip of South Andros Island, opening into the ocean and the South Bight.

From Florida by Boat:
Some of our guests have driven their own boats to the island. There is a large marina in Drigg’s Hill which offers limited dockage and services. There is a small marina in Kemp's Bay. Reel Tight Charters Bahamas can assist with all of your boating needs. Please inquire for more information if you are considering this option.

Your arrival on South Andros Island:
There are usually taxis available upon your arrival at Congo Town Airport . Timmy, Rowena and Ms. Llyod each drive white vans and can carry you to your destination as well as provide rides during your stay. We're happy to call one of them for you ahead of time to ensure their availability.
